Mrs. Nissley developed a heart for missions after taking her first trip to Jamaica as a high school senior with Mount Carmel Baptist Church of Richmond, Virginia. Additional volunteer work included rural outreach and community health fairs, and she was a volunteer at the John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Monrovia, Liberia.
During the Ebola Outbreak of 2014, she led a local fundraiser in Charlottesville, VA to mobilize funds and supplies for front line workers in Liberia.
Mrs. Nissley has a BS degree in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing and Public Health Nursing Leadership from the University of Virginia. Mrs. Nissley has followed Dr. Chris Hena’s work since she met her in 2014. In 2019, she visited the Waterfield Primary Health Care Center and witnessed the critical services offered to the Kakata Community and was truly inspired by the work. Having an understanding of the Liberian culture and with her healthcare background, she will be an asset to move forward the mission and vision of Healthy Women, Healthy Liberia forward.
