Worm Project Update September 2019

  • Pastor Jerome Kennedy at Asbury UMC 9/22/19

Dear Worm Project partners and friends,

We have all heard the expression about how “little things make a big difference.” We know how one deworming tablet costing two cents provides treatment for a child or adult affected by parasitic worms for six months to a year.

With more than 800 million children facing the risk of being infected with worms, we must continue to tackle this affliction.  Many of you have been with the project from the start.  Others joined later and we still hope many more will respond to the need.  Thank you for your compassionate response.

As a matter of updates, collection times were in 4-monthly time frames in September, January, and May. Distribution of worm tablets commenced in May and continued through June 2019.

The next phase of distribution of worm tablets will take place in December 2019.  We are grateful to our partners for their continued prayers and support.  Without you, the Body of Christ would not have been able to make the distribution.

With the next distribution period gradually approaching, we need funds by the end of November 2019 to send the next supply to Liberia in December.

In a meeting with the worm project representatives, we agreed we could have 5-gallon water bottles and signs placed in churches for donations at any time.  Prior to collection of monies in bottle, we could also ask for a special offering during church service.

As we look to the future, we would like to have representatives for the Worm Project in various local churches.  If you feel inspired to represent the Worm Project to be the voice of adults and children infected with parasitic worms in your local church and community, we invite you and welcome your role in this invaluable project.

On September 15, 2019, there will be a gathering of donors for us to express profound gratitude for their dedicated ministry to save the lives of children.

Thank you for the good work you continue to do.  May God bless you and prosper the works of our hands.

In mission with vision,

Pastor Jerome Kennedy, HWHL Board of Director
